Additional protection for your valuables
Get additional coverage for your valuable items
- Collectibles (such as dolls, model trains, sports cards, comic books and stamp and coin collections)
- Computer equipment and software (personal use only)
- Works of art (such as oriental rugs and paintings)
- Hearing aids and medical devices (such as insulin pumps, hearing implants and artificial eyes and limbs)
- Musical instruments
- Sports equipment
Your valuables are protected no matter where you travel. When you go on vacation, items such as jewellery and cameras are covered (works of art are only covered within the United States and Canada).
Replacement cost coverage
We'll pay the cost to repair or replace your property, without deduction for depreciation. Additional coverage insures against theft and accidental direct physical damage to covered property with only a few limitations and exclusions.
Generally there is no deductible, although deductibles are available if desired.
Broad pair and set coverage
You will be covered for the full amount needed to replace an item of jewellery that may be part of a pair or set. For example, a pair of earrings would qualify for this coverage.
The amount of coverage is automatically adjusted annually based on the Consumer Product Index. Valuable items should be professionally reappraised regularly.
Wedding present coverage
Coverage for wedding presents may be added by endorsement. This endorsement provides temporary coverage to protect your gifts. Coverage applies for 90 days after the wedding or until the policy expires (whichever is shorter).
This is only a general description of coverages and is not a statement of contract. Details of coverage or limits vary in some provinces. All coverages are subject to the terms, provisions, exclusions and conditions in the policy itself and in any endorsements.
